BMW 5-Series (03 - 10)
Take a look around and you will see just how popular a car the 5-series is in Ireland. It is widely regarded as being among the best BMW has produced. The first wave of engines included the 520i, the 525i and 530i, which, after modifications in 2005 and 2007, can push out 174bhp, 215bhp and 273bhp respectively. Then there were some new engines introduced in 2005 which included the 2.5 litre 523i, and the frugal 520d. In 2007 they began the Efficient Dynamics programme, which meant fuel economy would be improved significantly. The car also has an outstanding build quality and an evenly weighted chassis which means it can glide through corners almost effortlessly. The interior is every bit as impressive; it has comfort, style, space, and all of the trims look and feel expensive. There is also a good amount of standard kit included. Fine car that is also big on practicality.
Look out for
• If the car uses run-flat tyres be vigilant as they can wear quickly

• Decent boot size especially when the seats are down
