Mini Countryman (10 - present)
The Countryman is MINI’s attempt at the crossover market, competing against the likes of the Mazda CX-5 and the popular Nissan Qashqai. It is also MINI’s first SUV and four-wheel-drive car as the original Countryman in 1961 was a two-door estate. It has done well thanks to competitive pricing. It is a highly practical car and there is a lot of space in the cabin. There is also a decent sized boot. As well as being spacious, it is also quite comfortable. The seats are excellent and there is a quality look and feel to the materials. Ride quality is smooth, and makes it a pleasant car to drive. On the road, it still has the trademark ‘go-kart’ handling, along with an excellent driving position, sharp and responsive steering. It copes well with sharp corners and even has some off-road capability.
