This Cabriolet version of the E-Class is one of the best drop-tops around. Compared to some of its rivals, the BMW 3-Series convertible and the Audi A5 cabriolet, it is quite understated. It is a fun and easy car to drive, the cabin has the sort of quality you’d expect in a Mercedes. While there is a lot of comfort and safety equipment, it also retains a lot of the saloon’s practicality. There is a good amount of room and ample leg/head room (when the hood is up). There is a huge selection of engines - petrols and diesels - that score well on CO2 emissions and fuel economy. On the road, this is refined and comfortable. The handling is good; the steering sharp and all is underpinned by an agile chassis.
• Hardly any buffeting in the rear of the cabin when the hood is down
• Great selection of some efficient engines
• There’s a high level of standard kit
• Build quality is excellent
• High levels of performance in general
